Originally constructed in 1942 to house Italian and German Prisoners of War, EDEN CAMP Modern History Theme Museum first opened it's gates to members of the public on 22nd March 1987. Thirty years on, the museum is very proud of the fact that it now presents the largest privately owned collection of memorabilia and materials relating to 20th Century military and 1930's and 40's social and civilian history in the world.
An educational visit to EDEN CAMP can be very much a cross curricular activity. The museum receives in the region of 30,000 school children a year, and a typical comment from accompanying teachers is that one hour spent at the museum is worth ten hours in the classroom in terms of bringing the subject of WWll to life.
We couldn't agree more - call us to arrange a travel-inclusive class or year group visit - it will prove to be the best day of term!
